Aretha Franklin died at the age of 76. She was know as the "Queen Of Soul" at her home in Detroit, Michigan.
She died at 9:50am Thursday morning on 8/16/2018. It was said that she died of advanced pancreatic cancer.
Aretha had 88 Billboard chart hits of which 40 them were top hits.
For eight years straight she was the best female R&B performer.
Aretha had also won 18 Grammy awards in her lifetime.
Although she was raised in Detroit, Michigan, she was born in 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Her father was a minister and a gospel singer and I guess singing just ran in her blood, because the woman could sing!
The video above is by Ioanna17. I like this video because it plays " Aretha Franklin - I say a little prayer" and has lovely pictures of her when she was young.

Rest In Peace Aretha and thank you for all the great music you have given us.
You will be missed!
This video is my favorite when she sangs "Think" in The Blue Brothers movie.
So, its been a minute since I last posted on this blog. That is since 911. Well the reason I'm doing a post today is because, I seen a commercial that Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg had did when I was watching RuPaul's All Stars last night.
Needless to say, I was SHOCKED to see them two together in a commercial for their new show that is coming out on November 7th at 10pm eastern time on VH1.
The world will never be the same as a result of the horrific events that transpired on September 11, 2001. ‘Remembering 9/11’ goes beyond the facts and explores the background of the perpetrators and the Government’s response. From the debris, stories of courage and survival emerged. This captivating program reminds us of those at Ground Zero who witnessed first hand the chaos, tragedy and suffering, including rescue workers, survivors and victims families;to one perpetrator who through his own faith and beliefs committed the unthinkable.‘Remembering 9/11’ is a powerful mix; a visual timeline of the events together with moving stories of courage and conviction.
911 2001 was one of the worst tragedies that United States has ever had. We will never forget all who has fallen on that day. These videos below are just some of the events that took place on 911 2001. They are also disturbing to watch. I remember a lot of these moments that I had seen on TV. They still bring tears to my eyes seeing them. I pray that we will never have an attack like this ever again. May everyone who was lost on 911 2001 rest in peace and blessings to their families that this day goes by swiftly.

Muhammad Ali, birth name Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr died on Friday evening at 9:10 p.m. Eastern Time on June 3, 2016. He was 74 years old.
He had died of septic shock due to unspecified natural causes, (the family spokesman) Bob Gunnell had said.
Ali had suffered for over 30 years from Parkinson's, it's a progressive neurological condition that slowly takes away your voice and physical dexterity.
As I was growing up I could remember my Grandfather always watching Ali's fights on the TV. He never missed any of them.
Back then we had those big heavy TVs, not like the flat screens we have now.
Well, enough about me and more about Ali. Yeah, I said that.
Ali was born in Louisville, Kentucky and Ali started boxing when he was 12 years old. In 1960 he won his Golden Gloves a gold medal as a light heavyweight.
When Ali fought Sonny Liston he came up with the rhyme line, "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." He beat Liston in the sixth-round. This is when Ali proclaimed himself, "I am the greatest!I am the greatest! I'm the king of the world."
At the age of 22 Ali renounced his slave name Cassius Clay and renamed himself as Muhammed Ali. This name was also bestowed to him by Nation of Islam founder Elijah Muhammad.
This is the whole fight that everyone seen back on Feb. 25, 1964.
The place was Convention Hall, Miami Beach, Florida, United States.
This was their first fight. Below is their second fight on May 25, 1965.

Breaking news on Dick Clark 'Bandstand's legendary producer and host' - dead at age 82 above.
Remembering Don Cornelius Creator of Soul Train Dead at 75 and my Tribute.
Generations of music lovers are mourning the death of "Soul Train" producer/host Don Cornelius, who was found dead in his L.A. home. Cornelius created the music and dance show that became a staple of African-American culture. "Soul Train" was a Saturday-morning must see. It also was the longest running first run nationally syndicated show in television history.
Long before MTV, VH1, and even BET there was Don Cornelius and Soul Train, consistently providing exposure on television for R&B and Soul artists who up until that time could only be seen on shows like the Ed Sullivan Show, American Bandstand and, once in a while, an NBC special (remember The Temptations and Supremes TCB?) Mr. Cornelius helped changed the landscape of Saturday morning television and influenced the entire American culture.
Soul Train was a staple for ALL YOUNG AMERICANS, and a part of American culture. We didn't watch sesame street, but we watched soul train, everyone I knew did, it was a part of growing up, the part we loved, ALL of us! If you liked music, boogie or not, we ALL got on the SOUL TRAin! So rest in peace, Mr. Cornelius, we ALL appreciate the CULTURE you let us ALL share.
I am truly saddened as well are many others by his passing.
I can remember I couldn't wait for Saturday mornings to come to watch Soul Train. This is when music was simple and fun. The music on Soul Train didn't have any special effects or the new mixers that they have now. It was straight up, down right buggie music and Don says the same thing...
Personally, I feel that MTV, VH1 and BET should run a Soul Train Marathon in honor of Don Cornelius. Those video channels just don't know how important he was to their very existence. American Bandstand was good... but it didn't groove nearly as hard as Soul Train did. It's a shame that not many people are talking about Don and the wonderful show that he brought to the world for over 35 years.

If you have a bloggers blog then you know that recently blogger has change their template to the bloggers dashboard. I was a little disturb by this because I was unable to get into my HTML with the bloggers new dashboard. I even sent feedback to blogger about this.
Hopefully the blogger team is working on how to add the HTML section back to bloggers dashboard. That is to the new bloggers dashboard.
In my video I will show you how to get to the old blogger dashboard so you can make any changes you need to make to your blog under the HTML.
Elizabeth Taylor Film legend dies at 79. All my life I have grown up with Elizabeth taylor. This is a nother sad day to here that another icon has past away.
She died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks. All her children were with her at her bed side when she past away.
Elizabeth had been married eight times. Twice to actor Richard Burton.
She also had a lifelong battle with substance abuse, physical ailments and overeating which made her popular in supermarket tabloids.
Elizabeth Taylor played in over 50 films, and won Oscars for her performances in "Butterfield 8" (1960) and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (1966), in which she starred opposite of Richard Burton.
In later in years, she was a spokeswoman for several causes, but mostly for AIDS research. Her work gained her a special Oscar, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, in 1993.
Inconclution: Elizabeth will miss you and may you R.I.P.

This is the best version of this song I have ever heard. It's very touching. Amen
This is my favorite version of this song. It's the most beautiful version. The "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" intro is from Floyd Cramer's medley. First released August, 1980, on the Temps. Alb. "Give Love At Christmas." The single was released in 82. The lineup for this version was: Otis Williams, Dennis Edwards, Melvin Franklin (born David Melvin English), Richard Street, Glenn Carl Leonard. Yes, Yes, Yes, there was an earlier version on the album "Christmas Card". Released in 1970. The lineup for that version was Dennis Edwards, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin, Otis Williams. Completely different rendition though.
